What a Summer!!!

So, Charlotte is 10weeks old today and is already trying to sit up!!! Can you believe that??? When you lay her down against your knees she tries to pull up. We've been propping her on the sofa and she loves it. She's trying to be a big girl already. Don't you just love those chubby cheeks?!! I know I do!! When I took her to the doctor last week she got her 2 month old shots, which she hated (and so did I) and she weighed 12.8lbs!! She's really growing fast, her head circumference and weight are in the 50-75th percentile and her height is in the 25th percentile....we're sure she'll even out as she gets more active. At least we know she's getting fed!!

Right after we got back from NJ we headed to Spring for my sweet friend Abby's Wedding. She made a beautiful bride, and again I should have taken more pictures, but it's hard to take pictures and burp/change/nurse/rock a baby. This is her getting ready right before the ceremony.

Evan is a thrill seeker for sure. He would have rode every roller coaster on the boardwalk in NJ, if he would have been tall enough. He already likes the ones that go backwards and upside down--my kinda kiddo! This is Vincent and Evan going up, up up....

Charlotte's MomMom had a baby picture of her and Charlotte could have been her twin. We definitely think she has her MomMom's nose. :)

Charlotte napping on her daddy in NJ....she slept great the whole time we were there. We all think it was the fresh sea air. Lord knows we haven't been getting out of the house much in Austin because it's been too dang hot!!

Yes, we are crazy and took our 8 week old on a 3 hour plane ride to New Jersey. She was great though, slept most of the trip....no nasty looks from the fellow fliers--way to go Charlotte!! We stayed about a week to visit Randall's family. We should have taken more pictures, but I was busy with the baby and Randall was busy taking pictures of himself drinking and posting them on facebook (haha). We got a few though!

Charlotte's first swimming experience at my parent's house was not too great. We dressed her all up in her little swimming outfit and then as soon as we put her in the water she started to scream. We know she'll love it one day....just not that day apparently. The outfit was too darn cute though!

Evan turned 9!! I can't believe next year he will be 10, that doesn't seem possible. We threw him a birthday party at "Pump it Up" where everything is inflateable. Him and his friends had a good time running around and playing and then he got to eat his cookie cake in the "Kings' Chair" (I think I need one of these at our house)!

She loves bath time now, she even splashes with her feet. When we take her out of the tub her hair is sooooo curly, but it dries straighter, so we don't know what her hair is going to do as she grows!!

Her favorite....the swing. She now has 3 one at our house, one at MiMi and Daddy Glenn's, and one at MomMom and PopPop's. It must be nice to be the princess. ...


We spent 4th of July in Spring. My parents had a family reunion and Charlotte got to meet some of her cousins and her Great Aunt Suzie! They were both dressed for the holiday!

We've had a very bbbbbusy summer! I'm obviously not the best at blogging, so please accept my apologies for all of you who check back frequently (Katie, Jean, Mom, Bren, etc.)!! I hope you enjoy the pictures of our family from this summer.

It's been a busy 3 weeks in the Owen House! Charlotte is getting settled in her new home and mommy and daddy are getting use to a little less sleep! I really can't belive it's July 1st....where in the world did June go?

We've had so many wonderful visitors to come see our new little bundle and tons of help from family and friends. It's amazing the out pour of support you get when you have a baby, I definately was not expecting all of the food, flowers, diapers, ect that keep coming our way. We can't say thank you enough for all of the wonderful love everyone has shown us. We are truely blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family that love our little one too.

Happy Birthday Charlotte Grace Owen!!

Well Charlotte made her big arrival on Wednesday June 10th at 1:02pm. She weighed 7lbs. exactly and was 19.5" long. She's a happy, healthy baby girl and Randall and I feel blessed to have such a perfect little bundle of joy. There are no words to explain how much we love our little baby, our hearts are over flowing!!!

We came home yesterday and Charlotte had her first car ride. She didn't make a peep...slept the whole way home (which was only about 10 minutes). Charlotte and I are working on breast feeding now. She's doing really good, but she does get fussy when she can't latch on right away. It's a learning process for both of us, but we're getting the hang of it much faster than I thought we might!

Last night was her first night at her home. She only woke up to eat 3 times during the night and then fell right back to sleep. Mommy and Daddy are happy that they finally got some sleep last night and that Charlotte is figuring out her days and nights already!!

Charlotte's MiMi and Daddy-Glenn, Aunt B and Uncle Chad are all here through the weekend. Her little head never hits the bed during the day with all the family passing her around to hold her. She's stolen everyone's hearts (including Max's). Max has become Charlotte's biggest protector. He gets very worried when she cries and never leaves her side. We think he thinks Charlotte is his baby...haha!

Evan helped pick out Charlotte's outfit today. He's been super helpful and will hand Randall wipes when he's changing her. He loves his little sister so much, it's really sweet to watch him with her. He even got her a soft cuddly pink teddy bear.

Well, I better get back to my sweet baby!! I'll post more pictures soon though.

Charlotte's Nursery

I've been meaning to get some pictures up of Charlotte's Nursery for a while now. Keep in mind it's not finished, but it's definately getting there. Her glider and ottoman will be in the week after she's born (go figure) and her window treatment will be finished on Monday. We still need a rug and her dresser will be gel stained on Tuesday......so just in the nick of time! It's true what they say apparently--if you're an interior designer your house is always the last to be finished!! Enjoy the preview pics!

Updates, Updates!!

Randall and I went to the doctor last Thursday for our final ultra sound. Charlotte weighs 6lbs 15oz. already.....which means I'm sure she weighs 7lbs by now! She was so cute the whole time we were watching her on the ultra sound she was practicing sucking on her bottom lip, we think she has big lips like her momma. Everything looked good at the appointment and I was 1cm dilated. Our doctor is going to induce me on the 10th (a week early) yay!! So, unless she decides to make an early appearance she'll be here on the 10th!! We can't wait to meet our little girl!

Over the weekend we went to Evan's Karate Belt Test, he did so well! He is now officially a Purple Belt (almost half way to Black)! Charlotte is going to be so lucky to have such a tough big brother to watch over her!!!

We also had family photos taken over the weekend at Bull Creek in Austin. Randy Tinney, our photographer who took our engagement pictures and wedding pictures took these also. We just love Randy and his wife he is such a talented photographer and so fun to work with!!! Here are just a couple of photos from this weekend. We should have all of them in the next week or two!

Other than that we just laid by the pool on Saturday, went to a movie on Sunday and got some more of Charlotte's Room and gadgets put together. I'll get some nursery pictures put up soon!! I just love her room!!

Baby Shower in Spring!

My wonderful sister, Brenden, Mom, and Aunt Patti threw me and Charlotte a beautiful baby shower a few weekends back. I had so much fun seeing friends and family that I hadn't seen in a while! The cake was SO adroable and delicious, YUM!!! Brenden even made the cutest baby wreath to welcome Charlotte out of diapers...Charlotte is lucky to have such a creative Aunt B!
